AWS has introduced CloudWatch Generative AI Observability, a monitoring suite designed for agentic and generative applications.

Inside the New Dashboard

The new observability features allow teams to:

  • Track token usage, latency, and model errors
  • Trace prompt–response chains across Bedrock AgentCore deployments
  • Monitor tool calls, decision steps, and memory usage
  • Integrate directly with OpenTelemetry for unified trace analysis

Why This Is Crucial

As autonomous agents perform increasingly complex tasks, transparency becomes mission-critical. Without fine-grained visibility, hallucinations or runaway loops can remain undetected until they cause real damage.

CloudWatch’s generative observability marks a step toward AI operations maturity, providing enterprises with the tools to trust—and verify—their AI systems in production.
